External Insulation:
Having a warm and cosy home is important to us all. What we may not realise is that up to half of the heat in your home will make an escape through the walls. This means that proper insulation is vital if you want to live in a warm home with low energy bills. Remont Renovation can sort that issue by installing our external insulation system.
What is external wall insulation?
External wall insulation is a great option for those homes that need some help when it comes to keeping the heat in, improving your BER rating and ultimately increasing the value of the home and saving money on energy bills in the process.
Older properties, typically built before 1920, tend not to have cavity walls, therefore they are not able to have cavity wall insulation. If you have an older property, this doesn’t mean that you need to have a cold and uninviting home. Instead, external wall insulation is the ideal solution to your heat loss problems.
The process of external insulation involves wrapping your home with materials that are designed is when your home is wrapped with materials that are designed to slow the heat from leaking out of your home. The External wall insulation is fixed to the existing walls outside and then plastered. The top coat comes in a variety of different colours and finishes which means that not only does external wall insulation make your property warmer, but it can also refresh the look of the outside of the property too.
Our process
You can expect the external wall insulation project to take between 2 to 4 weeks. However, this can vary depending on the weather and a variety of different factors relating to your property. We will begin by erecting scaffolding and removing downpipes, TV aerials and other fixtures that can be removed.
We will also tape up windows and doorframes, to ensure that they are protected during the external wall insulation installation process. Insulation boards will be fixed securely to the property and then two layers of render will be applied with reinforcing mesh. Once dry, the wall is primed and the top coat of render applied. In addition, we will ensure that all of your fixtures will be reinstated and that all of the tape is removed, leaving you with a beautifully insulated and smart-looking property.
How much does external insulation cost?
While it is expensive to fit initially, the benefits will be felt for years to come. Fuel and energy costs are increasing hugely lately – external insulation is the ideal way to avoid these rising costs.
There are also SEAI Grants available to reduce the cost to homeowners.
